William “Billy” J. Barnes, Jr.
Age 62 of Wilmington
Was surrounded by his family as he passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016 after a long illness.
A 1972 graduate of Delcastle High School, Bill was enjoying his golden years at his home in Lewes with his loving wife Luanne and their dog, Remi. A very softhearted, loving man with a tough exterior, Bill was a good man with a love of family that knew no bounds.
Bill is survived by his wife of 13 years, Luanne (Harrington); his son, Master Sergeant Daniel Barnes (Ashley), his step children, Scott (Rebecca), Erin, Kelly (Mark), and Christopher. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, Jaida, Ava, Dylan, Owen, Allie, Rissa, Lukas, and Alexandria; his parents, William Sr. and Dorothy; his siblings, Christine Hansen, Tim Barnes (Robin), and Lisa SantaBarbara (Tom). He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, namely his godchildren, Marc Hansen and Kelly Mause, all of whom will miss their Uncle Billy greatly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Rd, New Castle, DE 19720, on Wednesday, August 17 at 12 noon. Friends may call on at the church from 10:00-11:30 am. Interment will be private.
