Obituary for Dominick J DiSabatino Jr.

Dominick J. DiSabatino, Jr.
Age 79 – Wilmington

Passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 after a short illness at the home of his devoted brother, Bernard, and his wife, Joan DiSabatino.

Dominick was born on August 28, 1937 in Wilmington to Dominick DiSabatino and Inez (Sterlicchi). He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1955. He was an Army veteran, who served in the National Guard as an aircraft mechanic during the Berlin mobilization of the 1960's.

Dominick worked in the restaurant industry, and he owned and operated Pizza Plaza for many years. He had a strong work ethic up until his illness. He was a long-suffering Philadelphia sports fan, but he was always optimistic about the upcoming season. He enjoyed Friday night happy hours, his annual crab feast, a good mystery novel, and spending time with family and friends.
Dominick is survived by his four daughters, Denise Hoban (Jack), Lisa DiSabatino (Ken Gries), Renee Reece (Tom), and Paula DiSabatino (John Lebo); his grandchildren, Lauren, Alison, Michelle, Tommy, and Michael; his siblings, Bernard (Joan) DiSabatino, and Christine DiSabatino Koerner (George); and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Service for Dominick at Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th Street, New Castle, DE 19720 on Wednesday, June 7, at 1:00 pm. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm. Interment will be in St. Peter the Apostle Church Cemetery, 5th and Harmony Streets, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Cancer Support Community of Delaware, 4810 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807 or the Disabled Veterans of America, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
