Obituary for Alice A Wright
Alice Ann Wright age 93 of New Castle passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 23, 2019.
In her early years, Alice worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. She worked there for the duration of World War II. Later she went to work for Atlantic Aviation, where she did janitorial work.
Alice was a member of the Howard Western Senior Center. She enjoyed many close friendships with her fellow members. She was also a devout catholic and lifetime parishioner of Holy Spirit R.C. Church.
Alice had a zest for life, she loved playing cards with friends, travelling with her sisters, gambling, and watching the Philadelphia Phillies. But most of all Alice loved her family, her most cherished memories are times spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Jim Jones, and his wife, Lettie, of Dagsboro, DE, Marilyn Ritchie, and her husband, Darrell, of New Castle, DE, Cynthia Ivey of Lincoln, DE, and Thomas Edward Wright of Lincoln, DE. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jay Jones and his wife, Angela, of Milton, DE, Jackie Beilman, and her husband, Andy, of Litteton, CO, Erica Jamison, and her husband, Ron, of Fort Mill, SC, Dustin Ritchie of New Castle, DE, Danny Jones of New Castle, DE, Douglas Ritchie of New Castle, DE, and Thomas Paul Wright of New Castle, DE; her great grandchildren, Samantha Rainford and her husband, Jason, of New Castle, DE, Lexie Jamison of Fort Mill, SC, and Abby Jamison of New Castle, DE; and her great great grandchild, Liam Rainford, of New Castle, DE. Alice is also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit R.C. Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle, DE 19720, on Friday, September 27, at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the church form 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place in Cathedral Cemetery.
