Obituary for Amber Corinna Woodside

Amber C. Woodside of Wilmington, Delaware passed away on September 30, 2020. Another victim of a heroin/fentanyl overdose.
She was born in Wilmington, September 18, 1994 and was 26. She struggled with addiction for several years and had just been released from Meadowood Hospital when this sudden tragedy occurred. She sincerely wanted to overcome this terrible disease and once again live a happy and productive life.

Returning to the University of Delaware and completing her degree had been her greatest ambition. She was a beautiful woman who had a very inquisitive mind and loved to read. She had strong opinions on a wide range of topics which included environmental issues and politics. She loved art; drawing was a favorite pastime as was music that she was constantly listening to. Amber was a kind and empathetic person who hated to see others mistreated. She loved animals and once had a pet pig along with a rabbit and dogs. It seemed she always wanted to do things outside. She had spent most of this past summer in Annapolis, Maryland where she enjoyed the beach and swimming. She was not shy, liked to engage others in conversation, loved to laugh and could be the life of the party.

She graduated from Conrad Schools of Science in 2013 and then attended the University of Delaware. She was interested in psychology and someday counseling others with addiction and behavioral problems.

Amber is survived by her father, Thomas Woodside and brother Jordan Woodside of Wilmington, Delaware. Her mother, Kera Dotson of Berlin, Maryland, and her brothers, Robert and Cory Patton of Middletown, Delaware.

She had a wonderful personality and a big heart and will be missed by many. I loved her dearly. There are no words to describe the magnitude of her loss.

A grieving father,
Tom Woodside
