Audrey passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 12, 2021. She was born on March 31, 1935 to the late Frank and Gertrude Sharp. Audrey grew up in Colonial Heights, Wilmington, DE the 7th of 8 children. Her family raised chickens as a form of income as well as the family’s dinner four nights a week. So, after she left home, Audrey would never eat chicken in any form.
In her younger years Audrey was a candy striper. She always reminisced about her work there which she enjoyed greatly. She also worked at a Primos for a short time before she began her career as a waitress and bartender at Mrs. Robino’s Restaurant in Wilmington for 40 years.
Audrey had many hobbies and talents. She loved to play the guitar and painting. She also greatly enjoyed dancing and has passed her talents to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with great pride. She enjoyed spending time at Delaware Park with her children and grandchildren and planning family trips to Tennessee. One of her most treasured events was planting her annual Mother's Day garden with the family. Audrey was an avid reader, often finishing a book in two days. One of her favorite pastimes was curling up with a good cup of coffee and a murder mystery book. She was also faithful to her TV shows; The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. She never missed an episode and would not let anyone interrupt her TV time. Audrey and her daughter once went to a production of the Price is Right at the Playhouse. They weren’t called on stage, but the experience together was something truly special. Every Friday night was family game night at the Sharp home. Audrey loved playing all types of board and card games with her family. Her favorites included bingo (which was her all time favorite) and 500 Rummy.
Audrey’s most endearing quality was her personality. She was a thoughtful gift giver, making sure her gifts always had a personal touch. She was kind, generous, spirited, and strong willed. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her sons–in-law, James Costanzo and John Bradley.
Audrey will be dearly missed by her children, Lucinda Reeder, Sandy Bradley, Barbara Costanzo and Rodney Reeder (Jeanine); her grandchildren, Crystal (Erik), Jason, Jessica (Curt), Jamie (Stephen), Lauren (Josh), Jessie (Alissa), Shannon, and Miranda; her 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Sharp, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for the dedicated care of their mother.
All services for Audrey will be private.
