Obituary for Barbara Ann Jeffery (Jones)
Barbara Ann (Jones) Jeffery gained her angel wings on March 4, 2022, one day before her 80th birthday.
Born in Wilmington, DE, on March 5, 1942, to the late Albert Jones and Concetta (Veltre) Blunt, Barbara attended Sacred Heart School and later graduated from Wilmington High School. She was a homemaker, hairdresser, and floral arranger in Elsmere. Later she worked as a unit clerk at Christiana Hospital until she retired.
Affectionately called Bobby by family and friends, Barbara was a beloved daughter, loving sister, caring aunt, sweet mother-in-law, and loyal friend. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed trips to the beach and loved flowers, especially gardenias. Barbara will forever be remembered for her beautiful brown eyes, kind smile, and quiet strength and determination.
Above all, Barbara was a devoted mother to her three sons, Tony, Bobby, and Ronny. Barbara dedicated her life to caring for Ronny and giving him a truly wonderful life. Her boys will greatly miss her.
Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her grandparents Isaia and Mary (Presceno) Veltre, her nephew John Wencius, Jr., and her daughter-in-law Gloria Jeffery.
Barbara is survived by her loving sons Tony Jeffery (Jeannie), Bob Jeffery (Stephanie), and Ronny Jeffery. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren Tori Jeffery, Christina Jones (Micky), Anthony Jeffery (Kerry), Bri Jeffery, Jordan Jeffery, and Collin Jeffery as well as by her great-grandchildren Anthony, Cooper, and Natalie.
Barbara will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Maryann Sine (Keith) and Connie Wencius (John) as well as her nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, 10:00-11:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere, DE. Interment will be private.
