Obituary for Barbara Ann Monigle (Coletta)
Barbara Monigle, 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away suddenly, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Barbara was born in Wilmington, DE in 1936, daughter of the late Dante and Violet (DiCamillo) Coletta. Barbara was a graduate of Wilmington High School in 1954. During her time at Wilmington High School she enjoyed being in the band playing the snare drums. After raising two sons, Barbara held many jobs, some of which included Board of Education, Colonial Parking and Macy’s. She was a devoted member of the St. Elizabeth Parish. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Barbara. She loved traveling, painting and drawing and spending time with her friends but her greatest love was her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband William J. Monigle Jr., her son John Monigle, her mother Violet Coletta and her uncle Ted DiCamillo.
Barbara is survived by her loving son, William J. Monigle III and his fiancé, Claire; her granddaughter Caitlin and husband Shawn; her great granddaughter Violet Rose; her sister Judy Van Trump and husband Joe; her brother Ted Coletta and wife Ann and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 27 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 S Broom St, Wilmington, DE. Friends may call at the church from 10-11am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
