Obituary for Carl Francis Bader Sr.

Carl Francis Bader, Sr.
Age 89 of Cleland Heights
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 8, 2023.
Carl was born to the late Edward and Anges (Snyder) Bader.
Carl was a hardworking man all his life, working as a bricklayer out of Local #1 and retiring from Rizzo’s and Sons. Carl attended St. Patrick and Salesianum Schools and was a life member of St. Elizabeth Parish. He also served in the Delaware National Guard.
On May 17, 1958, Carl married the love of his life Dolores “Sissy” Kane. Together they spent many happy years of marriage raising their family.
When Carl wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time at various social clubs around Wilmington, his longtime favorite being Defiance A.A. He loved trips to Delaware Park and watching all his Philly sports teams on TV. But most of all Carl loved spending time with his family. Carl would light up any room with his larger than life “personality”.

Carl will be dearly missed by his children, Kathleen Alfree, Carl Bader Jr. (Joan), Thomas Bader (June), Ann Crist (David), and Susan Thompson (Rich); including, Jerry Alfree and Mary Wiltsey; his 17 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Regina “Jeanie” O’Brian; his in-laws, Thomas Kane and Michael Mazick; his “out-laws”; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relative and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth R.C. Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilm., DE, on Wed., Aug 16 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am-11:30am. Interment will take place after mass at All Saints Cemetery.
