Obituary for Charles S. "Stash" Harris

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 11, 2023.
Stash was born in New London, CT to the late Dorothy M (Bonser) and Gus A Harris. He was a proud
1965 graduate of Waterford High School, and he went on to earn a BA degree from Wilmington College,
Wilmington, Ohio. Stash worked for the New London Textile Company, Newark, DE for his entire career.
When Stash wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time by the water. Whether he was boating around or
just soaking up the sun next to the pool, he loved to be outside. Stash was an avid collector. He could
never pass up a good deal and enjoyed thrifting at his favorite place the “Sal” (Salvation Army). He
accumulated many notable collections, especially his watches, colognes, sunglasses, cars and art. He
was a former member of both the Perryville and North East Maryland VFWs. Stash was passionate about
honoring veterans and enjoyed spending time listening to his veteran son-in-law, Stefan.
In addition to his parents, Stash was preceded in death by his siblings, Theonne Harris and Theodore
Harris.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Patricia Hand – Harris (affectionately known as “Bucky”, his
step daughter Adrienne Talabisco (Stefan), step son Warren Abbott, his daughter Lauren Harris Alstrom;
his grandchildren, Ruby Talabisco, Michael Abbott and Julia Abbott, Jon Robert Alstrom, and Nathan
Alstrom. Stash is also survived by his siblings, Gus Harris and Dorothy Harris, both of Panama City, FL, as
well as his favorite feline buddy, Linton.
All service for Stash will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Stash’s name to the American Heart
Association or Faithful Friends Animal Society.
