Obituary for Christopher W Oakes
Christopher William Oakes, age 29, passed away on 12/31/2021.
Chris was the son of Kim Leahy and Tom Oakes. He was born in Chichester, PA and raised in Newark, DE. He was a graduate of Hodgson Vo Tech High School where he played Basketball and Lacrosse. Chris was a bit of a jack of all trades. He held manager positions at iHop, Bob Evans, and most recently Buffalo wild wings. He also worked as an electrician, landscaper, and many other positions. Chris was known by his colleagues for his work ethic and ambition.
Chris was at his happiest when spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid sports fan who loved to play basketball, golf, cornhole, and spend his Sundays watching the Eagles play. He was known for his contagious energy, protective nature, competitive banter, and having a great sense of humor. Above all else Chris will be remembered for being a loving and affectionate father to his daughter Aria, whom he loved dearly.
Chris is preceded in death by his father, Tom, and stepfather, Kevin.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Lyanne; daughter, Aria; mother, Kim; siblings, Kyle (Beth), Rich (Amanda), Cara (Mike), Caitlin, Dillon, Dylan, and Brianna.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 8 from 1-2:30 pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:30, at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway. Interment will be private.
