Obituary for Curtis Robert Pritchard

Curtis Robert Pritchard age 82 passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21 in Christiana Hospital with loved ones by his side after battling several illnesses for the last 2 1/2 years.

Curt was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked as a butcher for 45 years for A&P company, then Super Fresh. He was an avid football fan and was the president of the Colts Corral #14 of Delaware for many years. He enjoyed attending J. Geils Band and Rolling Stones concerts. He was a member of the St. Gabes Lodge and St. Anthony’s Club, both of New Castle. Curt’s favorite pastime was playing bocce ball and shuffleboard with his many friends and New Castle family members.

Curt was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Catherine Mary Pritchard, who passed away in 2004; his daughter, Maria Ann Bowman; sons, Curtis Albert Pritchard and Paul Joseph Pritchard; brother, Tom McCaffery; mother, Naomi Pritchard McCaffrey; and father, Joseph (Guss) McCaffery.

He is survived by his daughter, Nora Sposato; sons-in-law, John Sposato and Calvin Bowman; sister, Gwen Watson; brothers, Ronnie McCaffrey and John McCaffrey; sisters-in-law, Nancy Simond; grandchildren, Christy Sposato, Maria Sposato, Curt Thomas, Beverly Cumo, Kasey Janelle Godwin Farmer, Kevin Bowman, Aaron Bowman, Allen Bowman; great-grandchildren, Angelina Sposato, Johnny Sposato, Dominic Razzi, Shana Cumo, Jackson Cumo, Brittany Thomas, Aubree Marie Bowman, Alora Hall, Adam Collum, and Jackson Goodwin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to family members, Bonnie Turko, Roger Pritchard; friend, Gerry Alfree and great-grandson, Johnny Sposato for their support.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 2 at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle from 11am to 12pm. A Service will follow at noon. Interment will be in Silverbrook cemetery.
