David "Cigar" Gott, Sr.
Age 74 of New Castle
Passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.
David was born on Jun 28, 1940 to the late Francis E. and Maude (Shilling) Gott.
He was a dedicated employee of Potts Wielding. David also worked for the Colonial School District for many years.
He was a member of the St. Anthony's Club of New Castle, where enjoyed playing cards on Saturday and St. Gabriel's Clubs of New Castle, where he participated in a pool league. David also enjoyed his daily ride to wharf and through Dobbinsville.
David is preceded in death by his siblings, Francis Gott, Henry Gott, James Gott, Joey Gott, Betty Gawronski, Florence Tressler, Patricia Wilhem, Rose Fikar, Catherine, Marion Walters, and Mary Mangini. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea L. Gott; son, John Francis "Huck" Gott; daughter, Deborah L. Gott; and son-in-law, Edwin Ramirez.
David is survived by his son, David Luke Gott, Jr. (Sue); granddaughters, Mary DeAscanis (Galileo) and Erica Cochran (Ronnie); great-grandchildren, Galileo, Edwin, and Saveria DeAscanis and Brianna Cochran; and step grandchildren, Jeremy and Brittany Walker and Angelita Ramirez. He is also survived by his brother, William "Bill" Gott (Janie), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
Relatives and Friends are to attend a service for David at the Glebe Cemetery on Tuesday, April 14 at 12noon. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home 34 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720, from 10-11:30 am. Interment will be in Glebe Cemetery.
