Obituary for Dolores M "Dee" Patterson (Schocie)
Dolores (Dee) Patterson age 84, passed away 2/9/2021.
Dee worked full time at Christiana Care in the billing department for almost 50 years. She began her career at the Delaware division then transferred to the Memorial, then finally to the ‘new’ Christiana. In addition, she worked several part-time jobs to raise her 3 girls, Naamans Road Drive-In Movies, Shop N Clean as well as selling Avon & Tupperware, to name a few.
She was incredibly talented in many areas, especially painting pictures, making wreaths, professional stained glass & ceramics.
Dee always looked forward to her many trips with “The Getaway Girls”. One of which was to Graceland to see her beloved Elvis’ home. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and their trips to the Jersey shore.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents, George & Blanche Schocie; as well as her brothers, George, Gerald & Ronnie Schocie; and daughter. Deborah Forster.
Dee is survived by her daughters, Kathleen Parks, Lisa (Ed) Houghton & grandson Shaun Parks.
Relatives & Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 901 East Newport Pike on Monday 2/15 at 12:30pm. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy. Elsmere, DE from 10:30am-12:00pm. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
