Obituary for Dorothy Ann Mazick (Bader)

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, Godmother, and friend Dorothy Ann Bader Mazick passed away peacefully on April 16, 2021, at the age of 80 surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Michael Mazick, parents; Edward and Agnes Bader, and brothers, Alfred, George, Preston, and Edward Bader.
Dorothy is survived by the love of her life and best friend, her husband of 59 years Michael; her daughter, Monica Mazick Lee of Wilmington, DE, son, Mark Mazick (Meghan) of Hershey, PA, and her adored grandchildren, Julia and Alexander Lee; and Kevin, Chloe, Rachel, and Natalie Mazick; and siblings, Regina O’Brian and Carl Bader.
She was the youngest of seven children and loved spending time with her large extended family and friends. Dorothy was a graduate of Wilmington High School Class of 1958, where her favorite class was dancing in the gym during lunch to the music of the Platters and Elvis Presley.
While raising her family she was a bus driver for Colonial School District for 25 years (Bus #090). Dorothy took great pride in her work and never had a single accident. She did everything she could to ensure the children arrived safely at their destination. She enjoyed family get togethers on special occasions and spontaneous vacations to different places; Las Vegas, Niagara Falls, and trips to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Dorothy especially loved Manhattan (not the place, but the drink).
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the team of doctors and nurses at the Christiana Hospital for their support and care during Dorothy’s treatment.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 901 E. Newport Pike., Wilm., DE 19804, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 between 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment immediately following at Cathedral Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please pay it forward and go out of your way to help a stranger, find the beauty in all things, and always live with love in your hearts.
