Age 84 of Cartersville, GA formally from Wilmington, DE and Metairie, LA

Passed away peacefully at Assured Hospice Care with her daughter by her side on Saturday, May 15th, 2021.
Born on December 14, 1936 in Wilmington, DE; Eleanor was the daughter of the late Lillian and Cooper Malone.
Eleanor graduated from Wilmington High School in 1954 and attended the Delaware Art Museum 1949-1953. She graduated in 1956 from Delaware Hospital School of Radiology. She married her husband, Philip in 1955.
Eleanor was employed by the Veterans Administration Radiology Department in Elsmere, DE and New Orleans, LA from 1962-1994. After her retirement she pursued her art career in New Orleans from 1990-2005. She studied under well-known artists: late Kathy (Katalin) Gergo and late Milford Zornes. She attended the University of New Orleans School of the Arts and has many painted art works throughout the south and northeast. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, she moved to Cartersville, GA to be closer to her southern family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Philip Mason Leonard in 1980: her daughter, Susan (Leonard) Williams in 2016; granddaughters, Michelle Rigney in 2008 and Danielle Williams in 2017; and sister, Dorothy Waibel in 2017.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Sherrill (Leonard) Rigney-Hummel (Tim) and Jean (Leonard) Bell; 5 grandchildren, Mark Rigney, Amanda Hemphill, Carrie Lovelace, Jessica Breeland, Kayla Everett; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jean (Leonard) Hoff and many nieces and nephews; plus her 2 beloved cats, Dusty and Poohter.

Interment will take place at Silverbrook Cemetery on Monday, June 7 at 1:00pm.
