Age 96 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 4, 2021.
Elizabeth was born to late Stanislaus and Josephine (Pierzyska) Kaluzny and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. On October 8, 1949, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Henry L. Gardner. Together they shared 32 happy years of marriage until his passing in 1981. Elizabeth was the ultimate homemaker. She loved doing anything she could for her children. Her family was her whole world.
Elizabeth was a lifetime member of St. Matthew R.C. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Gardner; her sons, Earl S. Gardner and Eddie Gardner; and her grandson, Joseph Miller.
Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her children, Catherine Gardner, Shirley Collins, Linda Gardner, and Louie Gardner; her grandchildren, Kristin Messina, Paul Miller, George Collins Jr., Louie Gardner Jr., Henry Gardner, Nick Succarotte, Billy Succarotte, David Succarotte, Jenna Gardner, and Joseph Gardner; as well as many loving great grandchildren.
The family would like to especially thank Fr. William Hazzard for his dedication to the family over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christina Burial at St. Matthew R.C. Church 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilm, DE 19804, at 11:00am on Monday, Oct 11. Friends may call at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place after Mass at St. James Episcopal Church Cemetery, Newport.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Elizabeth’s name to St. Matthews Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
