Eugene Richard Radka

Age 87 of Wilmington, DE

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 11, 2023.

Gene was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Leon and Stella (Trzuskowski) Radka. He attended St. Hedwigs Grade School and was a proud 1954 Graduate of Wilmington High School. Soon after Graduation on September 23rd, 1954, Gene married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Gloria Ann Yacabell. Together they shared a blessed 69 years raising their family. Gene worked in the construction industry before starting his own business with his lifelong friend, Gene V. Stearrett. He successfully operated State Drywall Company for over 40 years before retiring in 2006. Gene was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and Pulaski Legion.

Gene’s passion and favorite pastime was boating on his treasured “Gloriann” and fishing the beaches of North Wildwood and Cape Hatteras Island. He was a member of several local clubs and won many fishing competitions throughout the years. Gene’s favorite place was relaxing on the deck with family and friends enjoying the salt air and ocean view. He was a devoted husband and father and loved just simply spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Radka.

Gene will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Gloria, his children, Eugene Jr (Lauren), Robert (Heidi),
Susan (John) and Anthony (Dina), his 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dolores Feeney and Irene Annone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home,
1400 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Thursday Dec. 21st from 10:00am -11:00am.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary the Assumption, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin
at 12 noon. Followed by interment at Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks Contributions to be made in Gene’s name to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation t2t.org
