Filomena Mary Duncan
Age 80 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2023.
Filomena was born in Wilmington on February 13, 1942, to the late Daniel and Mary (DiPietro) Veltre. She was a proud 1960 graduate of Wilmington High School. In 1963 Fil married the love her life John Duncan. Together they shared 60 years of love and friendship raising their family.
Fil loved to travel. She enjoyed small day trips to the beach just as much as her grand adventures all over the U.S. Fil was lovingly described QVC addict. She was always watching hoping to take advantage every great deal. But most of all Fil loved her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Filomena was preceded in death by her sons, John R. Duncan Jr. and William Scott Duncan; her siblings, Daniel Veltre, Valerie Veltre, and Diane Teti; her grandchildren, Ryan and Reagan Duncan; and son-in-law, Harry A. Gravell.
She is survived by her husband, John R. Duncan, Sr; her daughter, Jenifer Wade (David); her grandchildren, Luke Duncan, Jacob Duncan, Rilea Duncan, and Mackenzie Duncan. She is also survived by her daughters-in law, Dena Duncan and Christina Duncan; her sister Julie Regenauer; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 901 N. Dupont St., Wilm., DE 19805, on Thursday, January 19 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the church from 11:000am-12:00noon. Interment will take place in Cathedral Cemetery.
