Obituary for Glenn L Waters

GLENN LEE WATERS
AGE: 77 - NEW CASTLE, DE

Glenn Lee Waters, a lifelong New Castle, DE resident, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2018. Glenn was born on August 14, 1941, and was the youngest of three children of Edward and Jeanette (Cramer) Waters.

Glenn loved sitting on the benches of Battery Park, holding his faithful chihuahua (Daisy) and chatting with his buddies as they all watched the Delaware River flow by. The time with his friends brought him great joy, and they supported him, visited him, and encouraged him even in his last days. Many of his friends noted that Glenn made the best crabcakes around, so maybe he even got inspiration from the water for that. Glenn also loved drawing and sketching things he loved, including lighthouses, seagulls, and the beach.

Glenn served in the Delaware National Guard and was employed at Concord High School for many years.

In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 27 years, Julie; brother, Alyn; sister, Eleanor; and step-son, Gino.

Glenn is survived by his step-son, Joseph Octavio; step-daughter, Vera Octavio; nephews, David (Beth) McCallister, Wayne (Amy) McCallister, and Kenneth (Brenda) McCallister; cousins, William Cramer, Charles Cramer, and Sally Cramer; his step-grandchildren; ten great-nephews/nieces; and five great-great-nephews/nieces.

The family would like to specifically thank his New Castle friends who loved Glenn and visited him, even in his final days here on Earth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 West 6th Street, New Castle, DE at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 -11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Glenn's memory to the New Castle Historical Society, New Castle, DE or Faithful Friends, Wilmington, DE.
