Obituary for Jean Ann Miller (Hetrick)

Jean Ann (Hetrick) Miller, 83, of New Castle, Delaware passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Jean Ann was born to Gerald and Jean Hetrick in DuBois, PA on August 24, 1940. As a small child, Jean Ann and her family moved to the City of New Castle, DE where she would later meet, and marry the love of her life and raise her three children.
Following her graduation from William Penn High School in 1958, Jean Ann began her life as a mom and homemaker. After raising her children, she went back to school to receive a degree in Computer Science from the University of Delaware and worked for several years for Chase Manhattan Bank.
Jean Ann was a faithful member of the New Castle United Methodist Church. As a member of the Church, she started the Cherub Choir, lead the Children’s Choir, was a member of the Four Square Alter Guide and the United Methodist Women, and served on many committees. Outside of the Church she served as a member of the Pythian Sisters Temple 5 and the New Castle Century Club.
Jean Ann was happiest surrounded by her family and close friends. She enjoyed working on her many sewing projects, tending to her garden, and was an avid reader. Some of her most precious memories were made during her yearly trips to Florida with her husband or at her vacation home in Maryland.
Jean Ann is predeceased by her parents, Gerald, and Jean Hetrick; her siblings, Margaret Wilhelm and Gerald Hetrick (Treasure); and sisters-in-law, Kathleen Cobb (Charlie) and Maxalinda Wright (Frank)
Jean Ann is survived by her loving husband Andrew C. Miller Jr of 64 years; her children, Andrew C. Miller III, Jeffrey Miller (Cindy), and Sherry Miller; her grand-children, Megan Miller, Matthew Miller, and Mary Ann Thatcher; her great-grandson, Everett Miller; and her nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W 6th St, New Castle, DE 19720 at 11 AM, friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 10 AM. The burial service will be private.
