Obituary for Jerome S. "Chick" Cannon Sr.

Jerome S. “Chick” Cannon, Sr. born in New Castle, DE passed away on Oct. 12, 2021 in the comfort of family after a courageous battle with COPD.
Chick is predeceased by son Jerome S. “Jerry”, Jr., parents, Wallace L. Cannon, Jr. and Marie {Gregg} Cannon. Siblings Jean Gallagher (Thomas), Marie “Sis” Stansky (Edward), Helen Pawlowicz (Edward), Catherine DeAscanis (Francis), James “Spike” (Ruth Ann), Wallace L. Cannon III.
He is survived by wife Paula (Bilik) Cannon, sons Eric Paul and Brian Joseph Cannon (Jennifer Tibbetts) and granddaughter Emily L. Cannon. He is also survived by siblings Christine Loncki (Walter), Elaine Pupillo (Anthony) and sister-in-law Rosemarie Cannon, Barbara Bilik Davis (John).
Chick attended St. Peter the Apostle grade school and high school. He held several career paths, Rizzo Construction, DE Memorial Bridge (Landscaper), Witco Chemical ( Lab Tech), and Chyrsler. Chick was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and a genuinely good man. He loved life and having a good time with his entire Cannon and extended family. He also enjoyed the beach life, an avid Phillies and Eagles fan, loved crossword puzzles & coffee, fishing and hunting with his best bud, “Ang”, and loved nature. He was a member of St. Anthony s Club In New Castle and had many good times and many friends; Chick was fun to be around. Chick will be dearly missed by all and will be “Forever in our Hearts”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 35 E. 5th St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Monday, Nov 15, at 10:30am. Friends may call a the church from 9:30am-10:30am.Interment will be private.
