Johanna Marie "Nanny" Bleacher
Aged 80 of Wilmington
Passed away May 9, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Before marriage, Johanna worked as a hairdresser, but her primary occupation was a homemaker and mother. Johanna raised three sons, helped care for her grandchildren, and, most recently, enjoyed visits with her great-grandchildren. One of her great loves was having dogs. During her lifetime she cared for seventeen dogs. Though she had all kinds of dogs, Irish Wolfhounds were particularly dear to her.
She is precededin death by her parents, Ivan and Leopoldina Silverthorn, her brothers, Ivan and Paul Silverthorn, and her sister, Ave Maria Silverthorn.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, John “Jack” Bleacher; her sons, Paul (Ann Marie), John (Heather), and Stefan; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Amanda, Matthew, and Paul; and her great-grandchildren, Roman and Cecilia.
Services will be private.
