John H. Easom
Age 66 of New Castle
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 10, 2020.
John was born and raised in Seaford, Delaware to the late William K. and Norma J. (Sullivan) Easom. He was a proud 1971 graduate of Seaford High School. John moved to New Castle for work, there he met the love of his life, Susan Stevenson. They were married on May 14, 1983. In February of 1984 John adopted Susan’s son, Bob. He raised him as his own son from the moment he entered Bob’s life.
John was an incredibly hard worker. He was passionate about his career with ACF Environmental, even taking work calls up to 3 days prior to his passing.
John loved to fish. He and Bob enjoyed many hours together out on the water. John was a dog lover. He was a true believer that dogs are mans best friend. John was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He treasured the trips to the Sleep Inn in Lewes Beach, DE with Susan and with his granddaughters. He was a doting Poppop who loved his girls more than anything. But most of all John was a great man. Everyone that met him was drawn to his caring nature and rambunctious sense of humor. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his dog and best friend, Bailey.
John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan; his son, Bob Easom and his wife, Jane; and his granddaughters, Lilly and Dani Easom. He also leaves behind his two beloved dogs, Charlie and Cindy Lou.
At John’s request he would like to convey that his funeral should not be a stuffy affair. There was nothing he hated more than putting a suit on. Please come in casual clothing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for John at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th Street, New Castle, DE 19720, on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in John’s name to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19713, or Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Dr, Suite 407, Newark, Delaware, 19713.
