Obituary for John McCaffery
John McCaffery passed away peacefully on October 21, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.
He was born in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Joseph and Naomi (Pritchard) McCaffery.
John was a lifelong resident of New Castle. He attended St. Peter's grade school and graduated from William Penn High School. Upon graduating high school John went on to Delaware Technical Community College.
He was a fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies and Eagles. He also enjoyed playing shuffle board with friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom McCaffery, Curt Pritchard; nephews, Curt Pritchard and Paul Pritchard; niece, Maria Bowman; brother-in-law, Butch Watson.
John is survived by his brother, Ronnie McCaffery; sister Gwen Watson; nieces Nora Sposato (John), and Jennifer McGuire; nephews, Mike Watson (Jennifer), Tommy and Brendan McCaffery; great nieces, Christy and Marie Sposato; sister-in-law, Mary Ann McCaffery; and nephew-in-law, Calvin Bowman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for John on Friday, November 4 at 12:00 at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 West 6th Street, New Castle. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11-12. Interment will be in St. Peter the Apostle Church Cemetery following the service.
