Obituary for Joseph M. Brogan

Joseph M. Brogan of Wilmington passed away peacefully on January 21, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his loving family at his side.

Joe retired as a Sergeant Major in the Delaware Army National Guard after 38 years of service. He then worked for Amato and Associates for 17 years before retiring as a snowbird spending his winters in Marathon, Florida.

He was an active member of Malvern where he made a yearly retreat for 39 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

Joe believed if you work hard you play hard. He loved skiing, cruises, and was an avid sun worshipper. Most of all he cherished his family, especially his 3 granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and mother, Martha (Apel) Brogan as well as his infant son Joseph.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Gladie D. Brogan; daughters, Kathryn Lovins, Joanna Burton (John) and Kimberly Cofrancisco (Anthony); and his 3 beautiful granddaughters, Melissa (TJ), Breanna and Adaline; his sisters, Eileen Brice (Bill) and Maryann Kane; along with a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 24, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway. Wilmington, DE 19805.
