Obituary for Katherine A "Kate" Boudart

Katherine Anne Boudart died suddenly on March 14th. She was 73 years old. She is survived by her daughters Anne Secaras(Jerame) and Mary Fuchs (Mike Rispoli) and two grandchildren, Annie and Larry Rispoli. She is also survived by her siblings Mimi Boudart, Sally Dryden (Dave), Chris Boudart (Jennifer) and Jim Boudart(Nicole) and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her uncle and aunt Prosper and Ursula Boudart.

Kate graduated from Padua Academy and the University of Delaware with an English degree, a French minor and certification to teach. Kate taught at several schools in the area and near her home In Upper Montclair, NJ where she and her family moved in 1988. She also worked in the admissions department at Trenton State College and as a pharmaceutical representative for several companies.

Kate returned to live in Delaware in 2015. She loved living at the Devon where she enjoyed making new friends when she joined a book club. Reading fiction and non-fiction were Kate’s primary interests. Kate was a life long learner . She really enjoyed Osher where she could continue learning so many different subjects such as opera and history.

Kate was an enthusiastic doubles tennis player. She belonged to a tennis club in Montclair and then Bellevue Tennis Club when she moved to Delaware. Unfortunately she was unable to play tennis after she broke her leg in four places in 2019. Kate loved seeing musicals and plays. She regularly saw Broadway shows when she lived near NYC. She had subscriptions to both the Delaware Theatre Company and to the UD Rep Company. Kate loved to travel domestically and to Europe. In recent years she traveled to Europe with Anne and Jerame and her sisters and spouses. Kate was a good cook and baker. She especially liked to prepare coq au vain and crème brûlée.

Kate was generous and loving to her family and friends. She was just fun to be with and will be missed by many.

There will be a visitation at Krienen Funeral Home located at 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, DE from 5p.m.. to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 24th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, March 25th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Church located at 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE. 19803. Interment will take place at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church Cemetery immediately after mass
