Obituary for Kathleen B. "Kathy" Richards (Barnes)
Kathleen Barnes Richards, age 60, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022. Born in Wilmington, DE on April 10,1962. Kathleen was the daughter of Robert L. And Regina Skelly Barnes.
Kathleen “Kathy” was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Kathy was a graduate of Corpus Christi school, St. Mark’s high school, and Goldey Beacom College. After graduation Kathy went to work for DuPont where she spent her entire career eventually retiring from DuPont Aviation. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter. She was an avid lover of the beach and spent most of her summers in Rehoboth Beach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert “Bobby” Barnes Jr, brother-in-law Dennis McBride, and great niece Sarah Lake. Kathy is survived by her three daughters, Nicole M. Richards, Michelle L. Richards, and Danielle E. Richards; their father John E. Richards; sisters Linda B. Cleary (Don Malizia) Patricia McBride, and Deborah Cunningham (Stephen); sister-in-law Noanie Barnes; granddaughter Kyliee Reihms; companion Kevin Rodgers, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews., and cousins

A visitation to family and friends will be held at Corpus Christi Church, 905 New Rd, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Friday April 22,2022 from 10:30-11:30 with mass to follow at 11:30. Mask wearing is required and must be observed by all. Interment will be held privately with immediate family.
