Lawrence L. (“Larry”) Kindbeiter, Sr.
Age 74 of Wilmington, DE
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 28, 2022.
Larry was born to the late Joseph and Marguerite (Newell) Kindbeiter on November 16, 1947 and was raised in Wilmington. He was a 1965 graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School. In 1969 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and faithfully served his country during the Vietnam War. On Valentine's Day 1970, Larry married the love of his life, Janet Barbizzi, and together they shared 52 wonderful years. Larry was a dedicated electrician and proud member of Local 313 IBEW for 55 years. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2863, and a parishioner of St. Matthew’s Church.
Larry loved classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He will be remembered most for the profound love and dedication he had for his family. He was a devoted and much beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Janet Kindbeiter; his children, Larry Kindbeiter Jr. (Terri), Reneé Gatelein (Joe), Lauren Traub (Carl), and Nicole Kindbeiter; his grandchildren, Alexandra Kindbeiter, Nickolas Kindbeiter, JR Kindbeiter, Megan Gatelein, Katie Gatelein, Kelli Gatelein, Henry Traub, and Stella Traub; his great-grandson, Wyatt; his two sisters, Carol Weaver (David) and Elaine Rathmanner (predeceased by Bob); his brother-in-law, Joe Barbizzi (Arlene); and his nieces and nephews.
Per Larry’s wishes, all services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Larry’s name to the Disabled American Veterans, 1601 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805.
