Age 62 of Wilmington
Passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023, after a courageous 2-year battle with cancer.
Lisa was born and raised in North Wilmington with her two sisters. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Lisa had several small jobs before starting her accomplished 30-year career with Discover Bank, retiring as a work force manager.
Lisa was devout Catholic and parishioner of both St. Helena and St. Matthew churches. On September 9, 2006, Lisa married the love of her life, Ed Houghton and together they shared many happy times in their 17 years of marriage.
Lisa loved arts and crafts. She enjoyed going to all the local fairs and had a talent for ceramics. She cherished time spent traveling especially to the beach and her yearly trip with the “GBW” girls. Lisa enjoyed cooking and baking. Even in her sickest days, she was happy to make dinner for family and friends. Lisa was truly a selfless individual and always put other before herself. Her love of family was second to none.
She was preceded in death by mother, Dolores Patterson; sister, Deborah Jo Forster; and her precious dog, Sugar.
Lisa will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Ed Houghton; her sister, Kathy Parks; nephew, Shaun Parks; as well as many dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthew Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilm., DE, on Friday, Sept 29 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park privately.
