Obituary for Louis W. Arcidiacono

Louis was from New Castle Delaware. He served in the US Army during the Korean War; he was stationed in Japan. After serving in the Army, he served in the Army Reserves, worked at Apex Steel Mill in New Castle, and Bruce Industrial.

Louis was a parishioner of St. Peters Church of New Castle, a founding member of Saint Anthony’s Club of New Castle, Volunteer Fire Fighter with Goodwill Fire Company, a proud member of the American Legion post 28, and a life member of VFW post 838.

Louie’s passions were cooking for and spending time with his family, tinkering with electronics and small radios, working on vehicles & boats, building and remodeling around his home, taking his scenic rides, gardening, and taking care of his neighboring birds & squirrels.

Louis is preceded in death by his loving wife Yvonne Arcidiacono; sons, Michael and Louie II, daughter, Annette Maricinizyn, a granddaughter, Anastasia; father, Orazio; mothers, Assunta & Rose; brothers, Sammi, Orazio Jr., Joe, & Angelo.

He is survived by sons, Anthony & James; grandchildren, Crystal, Nicol, James Jr., Marc, Michael, Dominic, Ashley, Anthony II, Desiree, Luigi “Tre”, Luigi, Falicia; and 11 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 3, from 6-8pm at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 West 6th Street, New Castle, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at 9am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 521 Harmony Street, New Castle. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Park, Sussex County.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Delaware Veterans Trust Fund : Commission of Veterans Affairs 802 Silver Lake Blvd., Suite 100 Dover, DE 19904 in Louis’ name, or feed a bag of peanuts to your local squirrel.

A celebration of Louie's life will be held on Saturday, May 7 at the St. Anthony's club in Old New Castle from 4-6pm.
