Obituary for Lynda L. Shipe (Sillman)

Lynda was born January 27th 1964, passed away August 1st.

Lynda was a loving wife to Bill Shipe and an amazing mother to Steven and Bryan Shipe. A loving sister to Mark Sillman and wife Sunde. Caring friend to all who she encountered, especially Scott and Dara Bodofsky, Joe & Geralyn Facciolo, and Howie & Ryan Minner. Loving second mother to her son’s wife and husband Adie and Jamie. She loved all her dogs which there were plenty throughout the years.

Lynda was a supportive military, police & fire wife. A beautiful woman who took care of her husband, boys and puppies. She was always ready for the lengthy talks on the porch and warm hugs for her loved ones. She loved her gardens and her numerous bird houses. She could be found rooting on the sidelines or selling hotdogs at Steves lacrosse games, where she became “momma Shipe”. She loved every player who grew to love her. She had a special way of making anyone feel welcomed and loved.

She always brightened up every space she was in. Her smile and laugh lit up rooms and warmed hearts. The world is a darker place with her passing. She will always be loved and in our hearts. All of her closest loved ones will be looking for her with every cardinal that drops by. It’s just Lynda letting us know she’s there and loves us. Forever being there, taking care of us, warming our hearts. We LOVE YOU.

A celebration of life will be held at Krienen-Griffith, 1400 Kirkwood Hey., Wilm., DE 19805, on Saturday, August 12 from 1pm to 2pm. Interment will be private.
