Obituary for Marcia Lea Began (Wilson)
Marcia Lea Wilson-Began unexpectedly passed away at age 71 on November 21, 2022. She was born February 4, 1951 in Western Pennsylvania to Edgar G. Wilson and Edna Catherine (Gump) Wilson. She was raised in New Castle Delaware and graduated from Wm. Penn High School in 1969. Marcia was a part of the Softball team in High School and went on to coach girls softball with New Castle Little League. She coached and played in the Women’s Softball league as well.
Post graduation Marcia was employed by Hercules, NKS Distributors, and the DuPont Company for several years. She was a longtime avid bowler with Bowlarama in New Castle and enjoyed playing and watching Women’s Golf.
Marcia was a member of St. Gabe’s and St. Anthony ‘s clubs where she became involved with their event planning. She had a great love for children and participated in clothing/coat drives and Holiday parties for the kids.
Marcia is predeceased by her parents (Fred and Katie) and survived by sister Loretta Jo Moore and brother in-law Lafayette E. Moore, nephews Kenneth Moore, Kevin Moore and niece Leah Ann Moore-Baldo. She is most proud of her surviving great nieces and nephews Hope Moore-Snider, Julian Moore, Kyle Moore and Jillian Baldo.
Marcia was a member of the New Castle United Methodist Church in Historic New castle where her Family will have a private prayer service to honor her life.
