Obituary for Marisa L. Bilecki (Poniecki)

Marisa L. Bilecki
Age 53 of New Castle
Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Marisa was a lifelong resident of New Castle. She was a proud 1987 graduate of Del Castle High School as well as Widener University. Marisa worked with Delaware Physicians Care for several years then most recently Highmark Health Options as a senior quality analyst where her passion for helping others was proven in her daily work.
On July 2, 2015, Marisa married the true love of her life, Mike Bilecki. Together they shared a life of travel and adventures. She was always ready for the next big adventure together.
Marisa was known for her loving and caring heart towards anyone she met and her expert baking skills. Her cookies and confections were so in demand she opened her own small business. The Curvy Mermaid Sweet Confectionary was the first step in her dream of opening a sweets and tea shop. When she wasn’t baking Marisa enjoyed watching Hallmark movies relaxing with Mike and spending time with her cats. She was always excited to prepare for Christmas and enjoy the season with family. She loved traveling and was happiest with her family. Her happiest times were being with her family, children, grandchildren and husband.
Marisa was preceded in death by her father, Joseph M. Poniecki.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Mike Bilecki; her children, Kyle Morales and Madison Morales; her stepson, Nicholas; and her grandchildren, Cairo and Ammon Delvin. Marisa is also survived by her mother, Patricia Poniecki; her sister, Michele Poniecki Smith (Norfleet); her nephews, Brandon and Nicholas; and parents-in-law, Margaret and Milton Bilecki, and her cats Poundcake & Muffin.
