Mary was the daughter of Stephen George Belusko and Mary Ann (Saksa) Belusko. Her parents emigrated from the Czech Republic and settled in Tomhicken, a small town outside of Hazelton, PA. Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. Family was first! After their children were grown, she worked at Wilmington Dry Goods in Elsmere for several years. Mary and Jim enjoyed being around people. We all looked forward to Mom’s delicious dishes of halupki and halushki which she made for the whole family for the holiday meals that she always hosted. Mary and Jim enjoyed watching their children play sports. They were always there to cheer them on. Later in life they were at the games of their grandchildren to cheer them on.
Mary was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and belonged to the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. She was also a member of the Mid County Senior Center where she had many friends and enjoyed playing Bocce Ball and card games - especially Pinochle where she would be chosen as the score keeper.
