Obituary for Michael E. "Spike" Tielleman

Michael E. “Spike” Tielleman
Age 56 of Wilmington
Passed away on January 17, 2023.
Spike was born one of five children to the late Francis and Rose Tielleman. He grew up in Wilmington and was a proud 1984 graduate of Glasgow High School. He was a roofer by trade and worked for various roofing companies throughout his career.
Michael loved music, especially Bruce Springsteen and The Doors. He was a die hard sports fan and loved cheering on his New York Islanders and Mami Dolphins. Spike was a talented street hockey player and enjoyed playing with his friends in his youth and even into adulthood. Michael liked to relax by writing poetry. He had a large group of very close buddies, and they could often be found hanging at Delaware Park. But most of all Michael treasured time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Lourido.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Franny Tielleman (Cheryl), Dee Kenney (Paul), and Kevin Tielleman, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service for Michael at Krienen- Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Saturday, February 4 at 1:30pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Interment will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers please send contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Michael’s name.
