Obituary for Michael ""Max"" Dugan

Passed away on Friday, August 14, 2020 in the loving company of his daughters, Melissa Anne and Laura Anna.
Michael has been a lifelong resident of Wilmington, DE, and graduated in 1972 from Salesianum School.
Michael was employed at the General Motors Boxwood Plant for over 29 years, until its closure in 2009. After the closure of GM, he worked for Shoprite for 7 years. He has also served as volunteer facilitator with AARP's Tax-Aide program. He was well-loved and greatly appreciated by his returning clients, who greeted him like a dear friend during tax season every year.
Michael loved spending time on the golf course with his brothers, nephews, and close friends. For many years, he loved handicapping horses at Delaware Park Race Track. He was a talented poet and exceptional storyteller. He was a lover of rock and roll music and could often be heard blasting his favorite songs from Bob Seger or Billy Joel.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Laura "Lottie" Dugan, his eldest brother, Edward Dugan, and by his beloved wife of 37 years, Bonita "Bonnie" Dugan, who has been patiently waiting for her husband to join her since her passing on September 2, 2012.
He is survived by his three daughters and their spouses, Melissa A.Dugan and son-in-law James Leary of Austin, TX, Kimberly L. Dugan and son-in-law Noah Webster of Dripping Springs,TX and Laura A. Dugan Bogart and son-in-law, Steven Bogart of Wilmington, DE; as well as his 3 grandchildren, Aubrey Atkinson, Eoin Leary, and Jaxon Bogart. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry Dugan of Grand Rapids, MI, Kathi Tuschinski of Newark, DE, Julie Dugan of Wilmington, DE, Eileen Dugan of Canton, MI, and Gerry Dugan of West Chester, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a service on Wednesday, August 19 at 6 pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy. Wilmington, DE 19805. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:30-6 pm. Interment will be private.
