Obituary for Michael Joseph John Millius

The menu in Heaven has just been kicked up a notch. God needed a Chili Cook Off. Michael Joseph John Millius passed away peacefully in his sleep on Oct 10, 2021, with his beloved wife, Pat by his side.

He was born on Jan 23, 1949, in Wilmington, DE to Clara Susi Millius.

Mike was employed by the Colonial School District for 40 years where he worked up to a supervisory position before he retired. Mike was a lifelong member of Goodwill Fire Company of New Castle, De where he served with honor and distinction. He held various offices from Board of Director to President of the company. He had hobbies that included observing nature, lock smithing and experimentally with new recipes, existing and creating his own, he felt at home in the kitchen.

He was affectionally nicknamed Weenie for his ability to create the hottest hot dog and Chili that could be humanly consumed. Mike took great pride in his service to the community with the fire company. But his greatest accomplishment was the many Chili cook off competitions that he and his teammates won which led to participation in a world class Chili Cookoff.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia; his brothers, Daniel J. Susi, and Adam Millius; his sisters-in-law, Irene Millius, Carol L. Loveless and Constance Lowery, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
