Norma (Nora) Domora, of New Castle, DE and Kearny, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly J. and David Ross; her grandson and grandson-in-law, Kevin Barry and Thomas Hurd, all of New Castle; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Denise and Patrick Clapp, of Parkville, MD; and her great-granddaughters Emma and Molly Clapp. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Castelbaum, of Bend, OR; and her many beloved nieces and nephews on both sides of her family. She was preceded in death 40+ years ago by her husband, Jack Domora, son, Dennis Domora, and mother, Ann Bycroft, all of Kearny, NJ, with whom we pray she is now.
Nora spent the first half of her life in Kearny, New Jersey, surrounded by loving family and friends. She moved to New Castle, Delaware in 1981 after her husband’s passing to be near her daughter and grandchildren. Nora most enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking meals and telling family stories, and keeping in touch with her extended family. Beverly, Kevin, and Denise are forever grateful for her coming to us and being able to spend so many, many years together benefiting from her love and caring.
Nora also enjoyed tending to her home and took pride in her homemaking skills. She loved her neighbors in Wilmington Manor, who also looked out for her, especially in her later years.
Nora’s final years were spent in Brandywine Nursing and Rehabilitation, where the people there loved and cared for “Miss Norma” like their own family, and she loved and appreciated them as well. Her family is eternally grateful for their caring and support, especially in the last few months at this extremely difficult time. We know they did everything they could for her. The family is also very grateful for the care and support provided by Compassionate Care Hospice.
