Obituary for Patricia M "Pat" Malloy (McGinnis)
Patricia Malloy (née McGinnis) Age 90 of Charlestown, MD and Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, on Saturday, July 29. 2023.
Patricia (Pat) was born January 28, 1933, to the late Bernard and Concetta McGinnis.
A graduate of St. Peter’s High School, and Neumann College, Patricia spent the majority of her career at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE working in various positions starting in Admittance, Finance and ending her career with one of her biggest achievements as the Head of EKG where she, and her team built a strong department introducing the latest technology, setting the standard for other programs being built at the time.
Most will remember Pat (Aunt Pat) hosting her Christmas Eve open house where all were welcome, her children and grandchildren will always remember Sunday dinner at Mom & Dad’s, and her husband will cherish memories of holding hands on the deck while they enjoyed watching the kids swim and listening to birds sing.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine R. DiFurio, Jean M. Sisofo, Mary M. Santoro; her eldest son, Francis X. Malloy, Jr; and youngest daughter, Erin Malloy.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 70 years, Francis X. Malloy; her 10 children Bernard (Donna), Michael, John, Kevin (Louise), Timothy, Matthew (Toni), Mary Spencer, Patricia Malloy, Amy Bosso (Ed), and Sara Howell (Greg); her 20 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Patricia also leaves her sister, Elaine M. Ryan many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 901 N. DuPont St., Wilmington, DE 19805, on Thursday, August 3, at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the church from 11:00am-12:00pm. Interment will take place immediately following mass at All Saints Cemetery.
