Patricia Ellen Deppen died peacefully Friday, February 11, 2022.
Patty was born Patricia Ellen McCullin in 1947 in Wilmington, DE, to parents, James
and Dorothy McCullin. While in high school she met the love of her life Robert Jean
Deppen. They married in 1965 and had 4 children.
Patty was a wonderful, doting mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and
therefore a wealth of knowledge which assisted her winning many a trivia contest. She
loved all things Irish especially St. Patrick’s Day. Her sense of humor was unmatched.
She always told funny stories about her friends and family and loved to share pictures.
She had a severe case of wanderlust that led to travel and daytrips. She was very pleased
that Joe Biden became president as she worked on his initial Senate campaign in 1972.
As a lifelong feminist she was so pleased to finally see a female as vice president.
Her loss will leave a hole that can never be filled.
Patty is preceded in death by her daughter Michele Matruder, brother James (Jimmy)
McCullin and her parents James and Dorothy McCullin.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her three children, Andrea Romito (Stephen), Danielle Harris (Eric)
and Justin Deppen (Andrea) and seven grandchildren Ryan Matruder, Amanda
Matruder, Lindsey Pease (Gavin), Kaitlin Harris, Michael Romito, Andrew Romito
and William Deppen, three great-grandchildren Nova and Mika Corbitt, Roland Pease
along with her two siblings, Matthew McCullin (Christine) and Dennis McCullin
(Anne). Patty died surrounded by her loving family and friends.
