Obituary for Patrick E. Nagle

Passed away on July 12, 2022.
Patrick was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Sanford High School and was a graduate of Conrad High School and Brandywine College. In his later years, Patrick also attended Duke University. Throughout his academic career, Patrick excelled in both football and basketball.
Patrick was in the Wilmington Police Department for over 15 years, retiring as a detective. He also worked Winterthur Museum and Gardens, MBNA as an executive driver, as well as NCC Paramedics as an investigator.
Patrick was a member of the FOP and WARP. He was also a member of UD Touchdown Club. Patrick was a passionate Duke University basketball fan and loved cheering on his alma mater. In his later years, he loved watching the Hallmark channel and all the crime shows on ION TV. However, Patrick’s favorite times were spent with his grandchildren. He loved supporting them in all aspects of their lives.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Babe Nagle, and his in-laws, Joe and Kitty Hemphill.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Beth Nagle; his children, Stacey Henry (Patrick), Duffy (Kelly), and Ryan Campbell (Phil); his grandchildren, Lizzy Hahn (Nate), Mickey, Rachel, James, Myonnah, Payton, Andrew, Baby Campbell, Summer, and Ryder. He is also survived by his siblings, Gerry (Flo), Tommy (Kathy), Betsy, Eileen, and Kevin; his stepbrother, Joe Hemphill (Mary); as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited the Celebration of Life Service for Patrick at St. Elizabeth R.C Church, 809 S. Broom St., Wilm., DE 19805, on Wednesday, July 20 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call at the church 10:00 am-12:00 noon. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery.
