Obituary for Ruth G. Trincia

Ruth passed surround by family members at Seasons Hospice in Christiana Hospital. She was born on March 7th, 1937 in Chester County, Pennsylvania to Hydon and Marie Gamble.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Earl F. Trincia, her son, Michael, and her granddaughter, Sarah. She is survived by her sons Richard Trincia, Carl Trincia (Linda), and Nick Trincia as well as 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mom was always very caring, had an amazing sense of humor and always found a way to make those around her smile and feel welcomed. Her sense of humor always made tense moments easy as she had a natural inclination to get people to smile in both good and bad times. She was there not matter what and lended her shoulder for anyone to cry on, often times she would cry right along with whomever she tried to comfort. Mom put others needs above her own in ways too numerous to mention. Although she suffered from dementia in her final years, she still made jokes or would break out in song to make people feel more comfortable. We think her goal in life was to make people smile, and she did that to the very end. Mom worked for and retired from Hercules Incorporated after 30 + years of service. You could also find her singing in the choir at Corpus Christi Church every Sunday and quickly scrambling home to catch the pregame shows and settling in to root for the Eagles. During the best years of her life, she and our father would spend weekends on their boat in Lewes or Dewey in attempts to catch biggest flounder they could find. She was a great mother/grandmother, sibling, friend, coworker and mentor, and she will be missed by all whose life she touched.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at State Street Assisted Living in Dover, Delaware who provided excellent care during her time living there through the pandemic and end years of her life. We would also like to thank the staff at Chrurchmans Village Skilled Nursing Facility and the caregivers at Seasons Hospice for taking care of her and allowing her to maintain her pride and grace through the last days of her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service for Ruth at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Hwy., Wilm., DE on Thursday, October 5 at 9:30am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:00am-9:30am. Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery at 11:00am.
