Obituary for Sandra Lee Nowell (Thomas)
Sandra Nowell, age 74, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022.
Sandy was born on May 30, 1948, in Wilmington DE to Willis and Beatrice Thomas. On September 12, 1970, Sandy married Andrew (Bucky) Nowell and raised two children, Tara and Jeffrey. In addition to the many years she spent working at DuPont, Sandy appreciated her time at home with her children.
Her lifetime hobbies included reading, writing, going to the beach, and cheering on the Flyers. More than anything, Sandy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and planning her holiday parties.
Sandy was the daughter of the late Willis and Beatrice Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Andrew (Bucky) Nowell; and her sister, Beatrice Berg. Sandra will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tara Neylon, and her husband, Mike Neylon; son, Jeffrey Nowell and his wife, Jessica Nowell; and grandchildren Abigail, Andrew, Sadie, and Sophia. She is also survived by her brother, David Thomas, his wife, Sharon Thomas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Bayada Hospice, her many caregivers, and Complete Care at Brackenville for their continued care.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 19, from 11-12pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy. Wilm., DE 19805. A service will follow at noon. Interment will take place in Silverbrook Cemetery.
