Obituary for Sharon M. Lisi (Hession)

Sharon M. Lisi passed away quietly on November 12, 2022. Sharon was born in Wilmington to the late Robley F. and Rosemarie(Montana) Hession. She was employed for over 25 years in various roles with Dupont Human Resources. She completed her professional career as a medical secretary(her favorite job) for the Nemours Hospital for Children.

Sharon courageously fought ALS for over three years. Although this devastating disease eventually took all of her physical capabilities, it could never rob her of her grace. Not once, in those three years, did Sharon complain or ever ask “why me?”. To many, as I was told, she was their hero.

Sharon is survived by her husband, James A. Lisi and her sisters, Gail(Eddie) Arijon and Eileen(Steven) Hession-Smith and her brother, Michael Hession(Tracie Edstrom), her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Nicholas P. and Anne K. (Lisi) Longo; her three children, Kelly M Ward, Sean T Ward(MaryBeth Buchanan) and Shannon M(Gregory) Bergan; her three grandchildren(Sean and MaryBeth), Meghan, Bridget and TJ Ward; her stepchildren, James F. Lisi, Kristin A. Lisi, and Matthew T. Lisi (Emily Crocker); her step grandchildren, James T. and Kelly Lisi, (Kristin Lisi)Grayson Seltzer and Emily Seltzer, and Asher and Micah Lisi; as well as several loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by her brother, Robley (Robie) F. Hession, Jr. and her son-in-law, Daniel B Parsons.

Although Sharon and Jim were married late in life, they traveled extensively during their years together. They visited dozens of countries, as well as, both the Arctic and Antarctic regions. They crammed a lifetime of love and memories into 17 beautiful years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Service for Sharon at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the ALS Association, the Greater Philadelphia Chapter; 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
