Obituary for Shirley A. Octavio
Shirley Octavio age 68 passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021.
Shirley had a zest for life. She was so active. She enjoyed shopping and trips to Jamaica with her best friend Sharon Turko. She looked forward to going to lunch with her sister-in-law, Gerry Octavio and well as Donna Rash and Beth Scarfo. She also loved traveling with her family. They went on family vacations every year to fantastic places like Nags Head, Aruba and Costa Rica. She worked at Delaware Dry Goods for 34 years where she just retired.
Shirley was a kind hearted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. If you asked her for something she would give it to you no questions asked. She never hesitated to help her family and friends.
Shirley was a member of St. Anthony’s Club in New Castle. She loved playing in the bocce league there and shared many wonderful memories with her long time team mate Bruce Behringer. She will be deeply missed by so many of her friends from the club.
She will join her mom and dad, Louie and Betty Camelli in heaven where they will greet her with open arms. She is survived by her husband Robert Octavio, Sr., daughter Stephanie (Amy), son Robert, Jr. and grandchildren Annunziatta, Robert, Louie, William, Francesca and Santino whom she adored, and her sisters Carol Nepi (John) and Patricia Eynon (John).
A viewing will be held for Shirley on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 10:00am-11:00am at Krienen Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720. Due to COVID 19 restrictions the celebration of life service will be held privately. The family invites you to attend via zoom.
