Obituary for Stanley S Borowski Jr.

Stanley S. Borowski, of Wilmington,

Stanley was born one of nine children to Victoria and Stanley Borowski in Scranton, PA. His father was a coal miner and after his death his mother was a dairy farmer. Stanley enlisted in the Coast Guard in October of 1942 where he served 3 years as a Gunner’s Mate. When he was discharged from the service, Stanley resumed his education in PA. He graduated with a B.S. Degree in Chemistry from the University of Scranton. After graduation, he moved to Wilmington, DE and lived with his sister, Mildred Corcoran.

Through mutual friends, Mildred introduced Stanley to Suzanne A. Bartash who he married in May of 1952.

Stanley began work with Pennsylvania Railroad in 1951 until he retired. He finished working as a conductor with Amtrak. Upon retirement, Stanley devoted himself to his passion for playing golf for over 30 years. He also enjoyed gardening and was thrilled to share his bounty with others.

Stanley was an active member and an usher with Corpus Christi Church. His wife preceded him in death on August 13, 2013 in Wilmington.

He is survived by his sons, Steph Savage (Elizabeth) of Fredericksburg, VA; Philip Borowski (Sharri) of Bear, DE; Adam Borowski (Chris) of Wilmington, DE, and his daughter, Patricia Kelly (Bob) of Landenberg, PA; and 7 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
