Stephanie M. “Honey” Mackin
Age 98 of Wilmington
Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021.
Honey was born one of ten children in McAdoo, PA to the late John and Mary (Zurick) Matuskevich. She moved to Delaware and married the love of her life, Eugene Mackin. Together raised their family and shared 58 happy years of marriage until Eugene’s passing in 2005. In addition to being a homemaker, Honey had a successful 29-year career with J C Pennys. She was also a member of Corpus Christi R.C. Church as well as the Association of American University of Women.
Honey was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Mackin, and her siblings, Paul Matuskevich, Peter Matuskevich Julie Volpe, Mary Madish, Michael Matuskevich, Edward Matuskevich, Sophie Matuskevich, and Helen Kryder.
She will be dearly missed by her sons, Peter Mackin (Maureen), Eugene Mackin, and Edward Mackin (Kathy); her grandchildren, Scott Mackin (Kerianne), Jarrett Mackin (Rosie), Marci Sutsko (A.J.), and Alyse Haschak (Dave); and her great grandchildren, Hayley, Luca, Leo, James, Chelsea, Tara, and Greyson. Honey is also survived by her brother, Stanley Matuskevich.
A private ceremony will be held at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions to be made in Honey’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market St #250, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
