Passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2022.
Jean was born in Sparta, NC to the late Fred and Zella Wingler. She moved to Wilmington after marrying her husband, Claude and together they shared many happy years raising their family.
Jean loved trips to Delaware Park and going to sprint car races with Claude. She was an avid Phillies fan and had every Western movie memorized and even traveled to Wyoming for the real cowboy experience. She enjoyed the simple things especially her black coffee. However, Jean’s greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude; her daughter, Barbara Brozoski; and her sister, Linda Hill.
Jean will be dearly missed by her sons, John and Karl (Amy) Stephenson; her grandchildren, Kyle Brozoski, Lindsey Safian, and Taylor Smulski; and her great grandchildren, Jace, Hadley, Lisle, Elan. She is also survived by her sisters, Goldia Childress, Brenda Cole, and Shirley Thompson, and her son-in-law, Dennis Brozoski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Jean at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE 19805, on Wed, Oct 5 at 11:00am. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:30-11:00am. Interment will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
