Thomas E. Blackiston
Age 77, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wilmington on December 27, 1940, Tom graduated from Conrad High School in 1958. At 18 years of age, he served his country in the United States Navy. He was a firefighter for the City of Wilmington, and then gave 35 years of service as a driver for UPS, where he retired from in 2001.

Tom enjoyed hunting, crabbing, Sunday dinners with his family, and horse-racing (where he met his beloved wife).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood “Reds” and Ruby Mae Blackiston; his brother, Keith Blackiston; his sister-in-law, Joanne DiLenardo; and his brother-in-law, Bert Schiffling.
Tom will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 52 years, Francine “Cis” Blackiston; his son and his best friend, Scott (Brenda); his forever little girls, Julie (Steve) and Jennifer (Dale); nine grandchildren, Marcus, Gabrielle, Gavinn, Kyle, Madison, Blake, Chloe, Chase, and Charlie; one great-granddaughter, Isabella; his sisters, Beverly and Cheryl; and an extended loving family.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Elsmere, on Saturday, June 16, at 10:30 am. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30-10:30 am. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
