Adele Davis Pepe
Age 86, died October 7, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.
Adele was born October 18, 1925 in Baltimore, MD to John and Mary DeHaven Davis. She moved to Eddystone, PA after her father's death when she was six months old.
She graduated from Eddystone High School, where she played field hockey and basketball, and excelled in academics. Adele was no stranger to hard work. She held many jobs in order to support her mother. She was a talented secretary. Her many skills during the war included welding/operating cranes and heavy equipment.
Adele married John F. Pepe, Sr. and together they had five children. They moved from Woodlyn, PA to Talleyville, DE in 1961. She and her husband were the owners/operators of Chris' Tavern and Package Store in Prices Corner from 1964 to 1989.
Adele cherished her time with her family. She especially loved escaping to her home in Sea Isle City, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; their newborn daughter, Mary Catherine; and her sisters, Marie Feely (her twin), and Rita Welsh. She is survived by her children and their spouses and her grandchildren; Linda and Bob Thomas and their daughters Shannon and Sara of Wilmington; Michael and Laurie Pepe and their sons Matthew, Gordon, and Jason of Summit, NJ; Christopher and Maria Pepe and their son Joshua of Bear; and John and Debbie Pepe and their children John, Jeffrey, and Jennifer of North Carolina. She is also survived by her in-laws, Ralph and Rose Pepe, Joseph and Josie Pepe, Terry Pepe and Betty Getty, and Patricia Pepe and Nicholas Massiario; and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial and interment at Cathedral Cemetery were held privately.
